Burando Maritime Services Acquires Atlantic Horizon Group

We are delighted to announce that on September 26th, Burando Maritime Services, a valued member of our family of companies, successfully acquired Atlantic Horizon Group. This strategic move further solidifies Burando’s position as the leading ‘one-stop-ship’ maritime service provider. Atlantic Horizon Group has been actively involved in international and domestic shipping, offering bunkering, lubricants, and ship supplies to sea and inland vessels since 1966.

The acquisition of Atlantic Horizon Group is a perfect fit for Burando Maritime Services, as their operations seamlessly align with our own. Going forward, the joint ventures will operate under the name Burando Atlantic Group, focusing on integrating businesses where possible in the near future. However, the Atlantic Horizon divisions will continue to operate under their existing name. This collaboration will enable us to combine our expertise and resources, enhancing our ability to serve our customers effectively.

The acquisition of Atlantic Horizon Group represents a significant milestone for Burando Maritime Services. With a fleet of 10 inland vessels and 2 sea vessels, this move allows it to expand its existing fleet of inland vessels and further grow our maritime activities, which began in 2022. Burando Maritime Services firmly believes that this acquisition strengthens its position as a prominent player in the maritime sector. The combined revenue of the newly formed Burando Atlantic Group is expected to reach approximately EUR 2+ billion.

Luc Braams and Andreas Drenthen, co-CEOs of Burando Maritime Services, expressed their enthusiasm for this acquisition, stating, “With the addition of Atlantic Horizon Group, we are taking a substantial step towards realizing our growth strategy. By combining our efforts, we can elevate our service to new heights and better serve our customers. We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings and look forward to the successful integration of both organizations.”
