Environment

While industry is the engine of the modern world, we are also aware that it is an excessive contributor to the rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, we need to drastically reduce our impact on the environment in order to combat climate change and achieve a carbon neutral world by 2050. The only way forward is to transition to a more sustainable energy system. But that does not come without complex challenges: transitioning to a cleaner energy system requires significant investments. At the same time, not all sectors can implement climate technologies or renewable energies simultaneously, which makes the progress of the energy transition non-linear.  The result is that we are not presently in line with the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement. Innovation will be key. After all, for most new clean technologies, the costs are lowering far too slowly to be able to bring down emissions at scale. Renewable energy sources, sustainable new technologies and supporting infrastructure must be made available and affordable at a faster pace.  This calls for entrepreneurship and remarkable partnerships to ensure such technologies’ development, implementation and scale-up.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our activities are guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to contribute to the creation of a prosperous future. The United Nations developed the SDGs to offer a blueprint to companies for how they can contribute to developing a more sustainable world. Out of the seventeen goals, our ESG objectives are focused on three key priorities: decarbonisation, diversity, and responsible governance. Through our activities and partnerships, we are contributing to the following seven SDG goals:
