Efectis

In its state-of-the-art facilities, Efectis conducts fire tests on behalf of construction companies, manufacturers of building products, the maritime industry, defense, energy producers, and government ministries. These tests range from small-scale assessments to determine the fire classification of materials to large-scale fire resistance tests for entire structures. Efectis also develops fire scenarios to answer critical questions: How does a fire develop in a space? How quickly does it spread to adjacent areas? And how does the structure hold up?

The approximately 2,500 fire tests conducted annually by Efectis provide not only test results or certifications but also valuable insights into material and structural behavior during fires. With this knowledge, experienced specialists can “read” a fire, reconstruct its progression, and support forensic fire cause investigations. Efectis experts frequently act as advisors, arbitrators, or expert witnesses. Efectis was sold to the French government in 2024.
