First Dutch Acquires All Shares of Cefetra Group B.V. (formerly Cebeco)

Rotterdam Strengthens Its Position as Global Raw Materials Hub

Rotterdam/Munich – June 10, 2025 – With the acquisition of all shares in Cefetra Group B.V. by First Dutch (press release Cefetra Group B.V.), Rotterdam-based entrepreneur Peter Goedvolk has taken a significant step towards realizing a global and integrated supply chain for agricultural raw materials. First Dutch —revenues of € 4 billion in 2024 and employing 3,000 people— further strengthens its global supply chain solutions, in which it is already a leader in (bio)fuels, energy, gas, chemicals, and renewables. First Dutch operates according to the latest standards in sustainability and efficiency. Peter Goedvolk, chairman of First Dutch, stated: “This is a fantastic addition to our First Dutch family of companies.”

Resilient and Agile

“The global order is being reshaped at breakneck speed. Military powers are challenging each other, and economic alliances are being forged in opposition. The Netherlands, too, cannot avoid repositioning itself within the European context— from a dozing welfare state to once again becoming a vital link in global trade. After decades of relying on cheap energy (natural gas and imports from Russia), cheap capital (long periods of low interest rates), and cheap labor (migrant workers), it is time to stand on our own feet again and strengthen our resilience and agility. That requires solid Dutch companies, and with this step, we are reinforcing First Dutch,” says a motivated Peter Goedvolk.

Strengthening Rotterdam

With its portfolio of companies, First Dutch is active in over 1,500 ports around the world, enabling it to support global supply chains efficiently and sustainably for its customers. “The fact that we operate from Rotterdam gives us a unique position in the Gateway to Europe,” says Goedvolk. “It’s remarkable that the predecessors of Cefetra Group B.V. have over a century of history in Rotterdam. We are building on a solid foundation as we take on today’s challenges from Rotterdam. Our roots lie in the Rotterdam delta, where an unparalleled economic complex has been developed. Furthermore, Rotterdam is the epicenter of the energy transition and the global hub for raw materials. This acquisition fits perfectly within that context. We aim to lead, to innovate, to be efficient, and to be truly sustainable.”
